Rockwall, TX - Richard Alton Young, 46, of Rockwall, Texas, formerly of Commerce, Texas, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on July 10, 2026.

Richard was born in Pittsburg, Texas, on February 12, 1980, to Lynette Riddle Young and Darryl Young. He was a truck driver for Old Dominion Freight for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Jessica Davis Young; his daughters, Karen Celeste Young and her partner, Kyle Hartman, and Lillian Grace Young; his son, Brayden Christopher Young; his much-loved stepchildren, Macailynn Green, Chandler Teagne and friend Amaris, Madysen Ellison and her husband, Chris, and Payten Bunievatz; his grandchildren, Logan Hartman, Delilah Ellison, Atticus Ellison, and Luke Green; his parents, Lynette Young Gill of Commerce, Texas, and Darryl Young of Pittsburg, Texas; his grandmother, Leila "Lee" Riddle of Commerce, Texas; his stepfather, Michael Gill, and his wife, Seezanne, of Sulphur Springs, Texas; his brother, Thomas Gill; his sister, Courtney Gill Blaske, of Commerce, Texas; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tricia and Dan Davis, of Winnsboro, Texas; his uncles, Ted Young and Tom Young and his wife, Jan; his aunt, Cindy Young Morgan; his cousins, Jaime Riddle Day, James Randal Riddle and his wife, Ursula, Diane Ricks, Makensie Bacanegras, Emileigh Bocanegras, Kayleigh Flores, and Madison Morgan; as well as his beloved nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Heather Young, in 2014; his grandparents, Alton and Les Ida Young; his grandfather, James R. Riddle, Sr.; his uncle, James R. Riddle; and his cousin, Victoria Leigh Brown-Peace.
