Maryann (Pusateri) Bracken, 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Conroe, Texas on Dec. 22, 2023.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at St. Williams Catholic Church, with Father Javier Diaz officiating. Interment will be in Memoryland Memorial Park. A rosary will be from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 28, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Visitation will follow from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Preceded in death by her husband Harold "Gene" Bracken; her parents, Salvatore and Rose Pusateri; and siblings Anthony Pusateri and Antoinette D'Arigo of Quincy, Massachusetts, Maryann is survived by her children Maura Klimisch (Alan), Chris Bracken (Cathy), Lianne McPhail (Kevin), and Scott Bracken; her grandchildren Ashton Wilson (Christian), Alyssa Chartier (Gabriel), Caroline Bracken, Winter Klimisch, Emily Klimisch, Christopher Bracken, Brice McPhail, Meredith McPhail, Joshua Klimisch, Katie Bracken, Sidnie McPhail, and Grace Klimisch; and her great grandchildren Rosalyn and Emma Wilson.

Maryann grew up in Quincy, Massachusetts. After receiving her degree from Emmanuel College in Boston, Massachusetts, Maryann was a Foreign Language Analyst with the U.S. Government. She and Gene met while she was working for the NSA. After they married they lived abroad in several countries.

Upon moving to Texas after Gene's military retirement, she turned to teaching. She earned her Master's in Speech & Language Pathology from Texas A&M University-Commerce, and national certification from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). She was employed as a speech and language therapist with Greenville ISD, as well as various home health services.

In addition, she volunteered with the Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Hunt County Opportunity Center. She was a member of St. William's Catholic Church in Greenville where she was an officer of the Women's Guild and secretary of the Legion of Mary.

She was diligent in praying for her children and whomever else needed it, as well as for peace on Earth. Once they retired, she and Gene traveled extensively. They enjoyed dancing until she was no longer able, and she took a special joy in visiting with the grandkids. When Gene passed away in 2022, Maryann moved to Conroe, Texas to be near her daughter Lianne.

Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord, and may the perpetual light shine upon her. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Knights of Columbus Scholarship Fund in care of St. Williams Catholic Church.
