Karleen (Brown) Mendoza Obituary

Karleen Sue (Brown) Mendoza, born in Greenville, Texas, on Jan. 14, 1958 to Marcus Everett and Eleanor Theresa Brown, passed away on Friday, Feb. 4, 2022 in Lubbock Texas.

Karleen attended school in Greenville, kindergarten through high school, then continued her education at East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University-Commerce), as well as Eastfield Community College in Mesquite, Texas and at Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas, where she resided until the unexpected day of her death.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of five and a half years, Roy Mendoza; daughter: Chelsea Sudduth and her husband Todd of Canton, Texas with their children Tristan, Clayton, Weston and Novalee and her second daughter, Emily Juarez and husband Tony of Odessa, Texas with their children Aubrey, A.J., and Sebastian; and her two sisters, Debbie (Brown) Berger and her husband Bill of El Cajon, California and Marcy Brown of Killeen, Texas.

Until she moved away at the age of 18, Karleen attended (and was Baptized at) First Baptist Church in Greenville, Texas.

She always seemed to excel at any position she held and was a cherished friend by many, and known as being an enjoyable person with an infectious laugh.

Preceding Karleen in death were her parents Marcus Everett (Brownie) Brown, who passed away in 1971 in Greenville, Texas and her mother, Eleanor Brown, who passed away in 2013 in Lubbock, Texas (who, after her retirement, resided with Karleen and her family in Lubbock).

A viewing will be held at House of Angels, at 1928 34th Street in Lubbock, Texas from noon until 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb.12 2022.
