Round Rock - June Yvonne Dunn - a gifted artist, devoted community servant, beloved mother and friend - passed away Dec. 27, 2025 at the age of 89 in Round Rock, Texas.
A lifelong creative spirit, June found joy in making beautiful things by hand. Sewing, quilting, crocheting and embroidering were among her many talents, and she lovingly created church pageant costumes and sets that brought stories to life. Her artistic gifts extended to painting, refurbishing furniture and crafting stained glass works, each reflecting her patience, imagination and care.
Music was a central part of June's life. She loved singing and enjoyed performances such as the Sun City Follies. An accomplished musician, she played the piano, organ, hand bells, and dulcimer. She generously shared her talents as a church organist and pianist, choir member and church music secretary. She was also an active member of the Sun City Dulcimer Club and served as an officer of Sun City Actors & Theatre Arts Guild.
An avid gardener, June was proud to be a Master Gardener and delighted in nurturing both plants and people.
Her dedication to community service was evident throughout her life. She served as manager of the Commerce Chamber of Commerce, was active in Commerce Leadership and took special joy in organizing class reunions that reconnected friends and preserved cherished memories.
In recognition of her many contributions, June was honored with induction into the Commerce High School Hall of Fame and was named Commerce Citizen of the Year - awards that reflected the deep respect and gratitude of her community.
June also loved traveling, camping with her husband and family, and attending the theatre, always eager to learn, explore and experience new adventures. She was an excellent cook and baker, and it thrilled her to cook for her family.
She will be remembered for her generosity, creativity, musical spirit and unwavering commitment to serving others. Her legacy lives on in the music she played, the art she created, the gardens she cultivated and the countless lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H.A. Dunn, mother Allie Lovela Jimison Moore, and her father Jesse Harrold Moore.
She is survived by her daughters Delisa Dunn, Yvonna Miramontes, and Cinnamin Lockhart (Steven); siblings, Johnny Moore, Loyce Helton (Les), Gary Moore (Beverly), Richard Moore and multiple nieces and nephews.
A celebration of June's life will be held on Monday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. at The Worship Place at 811 Sun City Blvd. in Georgetown, Texas.
