Leonard - Joseph Edward Howard, age 44, of Leonard, Texas passed away on Aug. 20, 2025.

Born Jan. 12, 1981 in Greenville, to Martin and Kathy (Lee) Howard, Joseph was baptized in the Presbyterian faith and grew up with a strong sense of family and community.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, Joseph was known for his kind heart, strong work ethic and love for the simple joys in life. He was the owner of Lone Star Plumbing and worked as a master plumber, a trade he took great pride in, always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Joseph had a passion for heavy metal concerts and the outdoors, where he found peace in caring for his lawn. He was also a dedicated sports fan and looked forward every year to football season and his fantasy football leagues.

Above all, Joseph was a family man. He deeply loved his wife of 13 years, Jennifer Howard, with whom he shared 10 and a half years of marriage. He cherished every moment spent with his children and adored his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Howard; father, Martin Howard and wife Cindy; his children: Sadie Grijalva and husband Juan, Halie Howard and husband Nicholas, Hunter Howard, Avery Coker, Ashton Balvin and wife Triniti, and Aydan Balvin; his beloved grandchildren: Myles Malone, Maddox Malone, Axl Grijalva, and Levi Grijalva. He is also survived by his siblings: Jeremy Howard, Kelli Blackwell and husband Scott, Kyle Horton and wife Brandi; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathy Howard; his brother, Cody Horton; cousin, Billy Powell; and grandparents: Charles and Ruth Howard, Neva and Bill Lee.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Howard, Ashton Balvin, Aydan Balvin, Kyle Horton, Doug Folks and Richard Peck. Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy East, Joah Escalante, Alexander Mawford, Juan Grijalva, Nicholas Malone, Justin Sample, Seth McMackin, Scott Blackwell and Matt Shipley.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 24 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Lynch Funeral Home Chapel in Caddo Mills, Texas. The funeral service will take place on Monday, Aug. 25 at 2 p.m. at Highland Terrace Baptist Church in Greenville, Texas. Following the funeral service, burial will be at IOOF Caddo Mills Cemetery.
