Lockhart, TX - Cato Meador, 69, of Lockhart, TX went home to be with the Lord on July 11, 2025 at Ascension Seton Hays Hospital in Kyle Tx. Funeral services will be held on July 28, 2025, at 10am at Salem Kinser Methodist Church with Pastor Ray Meador officiating. Burial will follow at The New Klondike Cemetery in Klondike, Tx. Visitation will begin at 9am at the church.

Joe Cato was born July 25, 1955, in Greenville Texas to Doyle and Helen Meador. He loved music of all types and was known for his beautiful clear voice when he sang. Music guided his life since his very early years and it was always his passion. He married Joy Ivy on Sept. 27,1974 in Gould. Arkansas. They were happily married until Joy's death in 2015. After several years of being a widower, he married Rebecca Chapman in Lockhart in 2022. He spent his entire career in the customer service field until his retirement in 2024. Cato had the biggest heart and was a dear friend to many, and after he founded the Facebook page "I Was Raised in Greenville, Texas," his group of friends grew exponentially. That page was his hobby and he lived to make it better every single day.

Cato is survived by his wife, Rebecca, daughter Keri Meador of Tennesse, son Joe Cato Jr (Joey) Meador of New York, siblings Ray Meador (wife Sherry), Patricia Cates, and Bart Meador (wife Donna), cousins Joyce Meador and Brenda Pope, as well as many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews that he loved with all his heart.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joy, his parents Doyle and Helen Meador, and brother-in-law Ed Cates.

Pallbearers will be Dewayne Cates, Ben Cates, Joey Meador, Jarrod Meador, Ryan Meador and Brandon Meador.
