Greenville, Texas - Dr. Joel Ray Hendricks, MD, 71, of Greenville, Texas peacefully entered the presence of the Lord on Sunday May 10th, 2026. A celebration of life service honoring his legacy will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 1 PM at Salem Kinser United Methodist Church.

Dr. Hendricks was born on August 26,1954 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. He dedicated his life to serving others through faith and medicine. He graduated from Greenville High School in 1972, Southern Methodist University in 1976, and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 1980. Dr. Hendricks practiced General Surgery and Wound Care for 45 years, caring for each patient with compassion, wisdom and integrity.

Dr. Joel Hendricks married his bride, Katrina Hendricks, September 3rd, 1993 in Greenville, Texas. Together they built a life with their two daughters, Laura Cherry and Lindsey Hendricks.

Dr. Hendricks was an avid reader and enjoyed teaching the Gospel, cooking, gardening, fishing, and driving through the mountains of Colorado in his Ford Bronco.

Though he will be deeply missed, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ and take comfort knowing he is now fully healed and at peace in the presence of the Savior he faithfully served.

Dr. Hendricks is survived by his wife, Katrina Hendricks, daughter Laura Cherry and husband Landon, daughter Lindsey Hendricks and Cameron Cranford, grandchildren Liam, Sophia and Amelia Cranford and baby Cherry; Siblings, Kathy Edinger and husband Emery, Cecilia Money and husband Dale; father and mother in law, Bill and Ellen Kirkland; sister-in-law Madrina McMahan and husband Tod, brother in law William Kirkland and wife Pam; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Mike and Sue Hendricks, sister and brother-in-law Karl and Ellen Lowry.
