Doyle Kendrick Cain, 90, of Golden, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018.
Doyle was born Dec. 11, 1927, in Sweetwater, Texas, to the late Milner T. and Lura Cain (Taylor). Doyle joined the Armed Forces and was assigned to the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he attended Hardin-Simmons University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business.
He married E. Jane Cain; together they had two sons, Toby and Chad. Doyle was employed as a director of the Ad Valorem Tax Department for Mobil Oil and retired after 36 years of service.
Doyle loved the outdoors and was a master gardener. He also enjoyed playing tennis in his spare time.
Mr. Cain is survived by the following to cherish his memories his son, Chad Cain (Esther Graham) of Golden; brother Max Cain (Mary) of San Antonio; sister-in-law, Celia Cain-Ruff of Oklahoma City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, E. Jane Cain; parents Milner T. and Lura Cain; son Toby D. Cain, and brothers Jim Cain and Marlin Cain.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Beaty Funeral Home, 5396 S. State Hwy. 37, Mineola, TX 75773.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, May 25, at Golden Baptist Church, 543 County Road 2940, Alba, Texas 75410, with Jim Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Enon Cemetery in Alba.
