Greenville - Dorothy "Dottie" Ruth Lahla Sparks, 73, of Greenville, Texas, passed away Jan. 6, 2026 peacefully, at her home surrounded by family.

A funeral service will be held Monday, Jan. 12, at 10 a.m. at the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home, with Bro. Kevin Clinton and Bro. Wesley Veasey officiating. Burial will follow at Lynch Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Sunday, from 4 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Dottie was born May 1, 1952 in Coral Gables, Florida to Raymond and Betty Phillips Lahla. She married Bobby L. Sparks on Jan. 6, 2007 in Greenville, Texas.

She worked as a teacher in both private and public schools. She retired from teaching after 10 years with the Campbell ISD. Teaching was her passion.

Dottie was a member of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church and served the Lord as a devout pastor's wife.

Dottie is survived by her husband, Bobby L. Sparks; son, James Clemons and wife, Kristine; daughter, Elisabeth Clemons; step-sons, Brian Sparks and wife, Rachel, Greg Sparks and wife, Whitney; step-daughter, Beckie Rodgers and husband, Jim; sister, Lee Ann Lahla and husband, Dale; grandchildren, Dylan, Korbin, Kaitlyn, Kaylee, Raelynn, Lillian, Ayden, Jayden, Zoey, James Jr., Jayme Ruth, Amanda, Seth, Elijah, Brett, Andrew, Brennon, and Ethan.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be James Clemons, Dylan Clemons, Brian Sparks, Greg Sparks, Jim Rodgers and Elija Sparks.
