Funeral service for Donald Louis Duncan, 80, of Greenville, will be conducted at 11 a.m., today, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Military graveside honors by the Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow at Ladonia Cemetery. Kenneth Miller, Dustin Stratton, Aaron Burrows, Winston Sweet, Jimmy Moon, Jeff Duncan, Bill Wetherholt and J.W. Reeves will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Moon and Rick McBride.

Mr. Duncan passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at Baylor Health Care Center in Dallas. He was born July 1, 1936, in Ladonia, the son of Delbert L. Duncan and Velma Holloway Duncan. He married Eva Juarez on Sept. 14, 1979, in Durant, Okla.

Mr. Duncan was a material handler for L-3 before he retired and served in the United States Army. He enjoyed farming, was a bee keeper and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Eva; sons, Donald Louis Duncan Jr. and wife Paula of Greenville, David Duncan of Greenville, Steven D. Duncan of Ladonia and Larry Wood and wife Alison of Greenville; daughters, Doris Duncan Sweet and husband Winston of Grand Prairie and Diana Duncan and Bill Wetherholt of Mesquite; brother, James Paul Morris and wife Casey of Winnsboro; sister, Betty Moon and husband Dudley of Sulphur Springs; brother-in-law, Sam Gearner of Winnsboro; grandchildren, Candace Burrows, Aaron Burrows, Briana Stratton, Dustin Stratton, Faith Wetherholt, Nicole Wood and Logan Wood; and great-grandchildren, Elijah Reed, Elliana Castorena, Sophia Flores and Gage Martell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Duncan; and sisters, Gayle Gearner and Carolyn Duncan.
