Dionne Moore Wade passed away on January 15th in Rockwall, Texas. She was born August 21, 1933, in Greenville, Texas to Abner and Janice (Midge) Moore. She grew up in Greenville and made many great friends whom she kept all her life. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald M. Wade, her parents, and her sister Yvonne (Bonnie) Hilliard. She is survived by her daughter Valerie Pritchett and son-in-law Thomas Pritchett of Rockwall, her beloved grandson Garrett Wade Lee and wife Katie of McKinney, as well as her precious great-grandchildren Landon and Morgan, and her beloved nephew Jay Hilliard of Dallas. Dionne graduated from high school in Greenville in 1950 where she was Head Majorette of the Flaming Flashes drill team. During her school years, she was a frequent vocalist at weddings and special occasions. She attended East Texas State Teachers' College where she had starring roles in musical and dramatic stage productions. She was a member of the Tooanowe Social Club. She received her baccalaureate degree in English and Education, and her teacher's certificate in 1954. She wed the love of her life, Ronald M. Wade of Gainesville, Texas, in July of 1954, and they subsequently lived in Florida; Georgia; and on Cape Cod, Massachusetts while he was on duty with the USAF. She taught in public schools in Winter Haven, Florida; Garland, Texas; and Greenville, Texas. She was active in Greenville club work for many years and was a charter member of the Spade and Trowel Garden Club which initiated several fund-raising activities for schools and local causes. She was a member of the much loved Thursday Bridge Club for over 30 years. She and her husband made their home in Rockwall for over 25 years where they were members of the First Christian Church. Her many friends, far and near, would say of her, "There are light bearers in this world. People who carry warmth and brightness inside and shine a little of it on everyone they know." Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
