Greenville - Billie June Head, 92, of Greenville, Texas passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025 at Gracious Community Homes, due to complications from a recent fall.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 14 at 11 a.m. at Coker-Mathew's Funeral Home, with Dr. Tommy Mann officiating. Visitation will be at Coker-Matthews Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Forest Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Coker- Mathew Funeral Home.

Billie June was born on Nov. 13, 1932 in Hunt County, Texas to C.J. Wall and Willie Garrett Wall. She married Jimmie Dale Head on Sept. 9, 1950 in Greenville, Texas. Billie June and Jimmie Dale welcomed sons Gary Head in 1957 and Jerry Head in

1960 into their family.

Spending her entire life as a Greenville resident, one of Billie June's first jobs was working at the Hunt County Court House. Billie June also sold Avon for more than 50 years. Her favorite part of that job was the opportunity to be of service to so many people. Her life was about service to her family, community and church. Billie June and Jimmie Dale cherished the opportunity they had to teach three-year-olds for many years in Sunday School at the Baptist Church.

In later years Billie June and Jimmie Dale enjoyed traveling with friends and taking numerous church arranged trips with Highland Terrace Baptist Church where they were members.

Billie June enjoyed being with friends of all ages and could usually be found at Cracker Barrel several times a week.

She had a generous giving spirit and lived her lite helping others.

Billie June is survived by son Gary Head, granddaughter Michelle Gurtin and husband Steve Gurtin, great-grandson Brendan Gurtin and grandson David Head.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Dale, son Jerry, sisters Linda, Betty, Carolyn, Freida, brother Jerrv as well as her parents.
