Commerce - Anna Mae Stahl, 93, of Commerce, Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
Ann was born March 8, 1932 in West Unity, Ohio, the daughter of George Kenneth Koch and Evelyn Catherine Beaverson.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 31, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Commerce. A memorial service will immediately follow, beginning at 2 p.m.
Ann attended West Unity High School in West Unity Ohio, graduating with the class of 1950. Following high school, she attended Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio and graduated in 1954 with a degree in education. Shortly after obtaining her degree, Ann married the love of her life, Jim Orin Stahl on Aug. 21, 1955 in the Lutheran church in Bryan, Ohio. In only a few short months, they would have enjoyed 70 years of happiness together.
After teaching for 20 years, Ann retired from education. She enjoyed several hobbies, including needlepoint, cross stitching, collecting and restoring antiques, and also enjoyed doing various volunteer opportunities such as working at The Bargain Box downtown and the food pantry at the First Presbyterian Church, both in Commerce TX.
Left to cherish Ann's memory are her husband, Jim; her sons, Scott of Dike, Texas and his wife, Margaret, and Michael of Sulphur Springs, Texas and his wife, Cheryl, her grand-children, Justin Stahl and Jennifer, Jacob Stahl and his wife Tiffany, Chris Stahl, and Jaime Stahl and her fiancé Ryan Moore.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, George and Evelyn Koch, and four siblings, Arlene Carroll, Darrell, Paul and Frank.
Serving as honorary pallbearers for Ann are Justin Stahl, Jacob Stahl, Chris Stahl and Jaime Stahl.
