Services for Mr. Allen Lynn "Big Al" Hooten, 71, of Lone Oak, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, at Lone Oak Baptist Church, with Bro. Robert Cook officiating, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Lone Oak. Interment will be in Lynch Cemetery.

Mr. Hooten passed away Jan. 16, 2021, in Greenville.

He was born July 27, 1949, in Greenville to Forest Melton and Zella Louise Pritchett Hooten. "Big Al" spent most of his life in Lone Oak, where he married Janice Marie Hicks on Dec. 28, 1971 and was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church.

He loved bowling, deer hunting, and playing poker.

Mr. Hooten was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Janice Hooten of Lone Oak; three sons, Allen Hooten, Jr. and wife Jan, Chris Hooten and wife Gina, and Toby Hooten and wife Jessica, all of Lone Oak; two brothers, Jackie Jo Hooten, and Johnny Hooten, both of Rowlett; three sisters, Helen Shaw and Shirley Stogner, both of Lone Oak, and Deborah Davis of Rowlett; seven grandchildren, Austyn Hooten, Tristyn Hooten, Colton Hooten and wife Brooke, Hannah Hooten, Justin Hooten, Mackenna Hooten, and Braden Hooten; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Danny Shaw, Jimmy Shaw, Steve Shaw, Gaylon Stogner, Bryan Anderson, Bobby Anderson, Dwaine Hooten and Tommy Marloe. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Bowman, Richard Holder, Jim Finney, John Malone, Ronnie Walding, and Joe Hernandez.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021 at Bartley Funeral Home.
