Yolanda's Story

Yolanda JoAn Davis was carried into the arms of her Lord Jesus Feb. 10, 2017, in Plano. She was born the daughter of Rudy and Wilma Duffie (Deatherage) Mallonee in Yuba City, Calif., on March 7, 1945. They moved to Alaska in 1951. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior as a young girl at Kenai Bible Chapel and dedicated her life to Him.
She graduated from West High School in June 1963 and married Larry Lon Davis on June 28, 1963, in Anchorage, Alaska. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, inspirational artist, selfless homemaker and loyal friend. JoAn was a faithful member of Bull Creek Cowboy Church and also a longtime member of the Greenville Art League.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Larry Davis of Greenville, Texas; her mother, Duffie Mallonee of Wasilla, Alaska; brother Rudy Mallonee of Wasilla; sons Larry Wayne and wife Maureen of Littleton, Colo., Collin and wife Galina of Dallas, Texas, and Jared and wife Kendra of Anna, Texas; daughters Christie Pettibon and husband Patrick of McKinney, Texas, and Holly Steele and husband Ben of Lakeside, Calif.; 27 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Visitation is today, Feb. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. Her service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. Both will be held at Bull Creek Cowboy Church off of US-69 south of Lone Oak, Texas. Pastor Mike Moss will be officiating and Jared Davis will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow the service at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville, with Larry Wayne Davis, Collin Davis, Ben Steele, Caleb Pettibon, Travis Davis and Landon Steele serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Joshua Pettibon, Jacob Pettibon, Camden Steele, Tyler Davis, Luke Pettibon, Jordan Oakes, Justin Steele and Rudy Mallonee.
