Mickel D. Thompson, 63, of Campbell passed away March 2, 2017, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Plano. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Benny Chaffin officiating. Interment will follow at Sullivan Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Born Aug. 18, 1953, in Greenville, Mike was the son of Ewell Howard Thompson and Betty Eula (Isham) Thompson. On Sept. 15, 1990, he married Patricia Ann "Patty" Holley in Campbell. He worked for the City of Greenville as a heavy equipment operator.
His survivors include his wife, Patty of Campbell; mother-in-law Lois Watson of Wylie; sisters Barbara Massey and husband Carl and Doris Swearingin, all of Greenville; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Hershel, Burnace, Howard A. and Abna Lee Thompson; and sisters Melba Lindsey and Betty Couch
Pallbearers will be James Holley, Garrett Lafavers, Brad Lafavers, Chris Gage, John Owings, David Holley and Garrett Holley.
