Mark Wayne Cross, 66, of Greenville passed away on July 13, 2017, at the Hunt Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be Tuesday, July 18, at 6 p.m. at the New Life Church of Covenant Ranch in Caddo Mills with Rev. Butch Bruton officiating.
Mark was born in Greenville on June 12, 1951, to Harry Cross Jr. and Margaret Glynn Courtney. He married Debbie Porter on July 22, 1989, in Greenville.
Mark served with the U.S. Army and retired as a truck driver and chef. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge where he was a past Master Mason.
Mark graduated from Greenville High School, attended ETSU, and later in life graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y.
Mark is survived by his wife, Debbie Cross; sons Tommy Cross and wife Brittany, David Cross and wife Ashley; daughter Abigail Cross; brother Bill Cross; grandchildren Wendy Cross, Gracie Cross, Keith Cross; and his three red dogs, Riley, Jenny and Little Man, and granddog Lucy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Susan Cross.
Mark was devoted to his family's legacy as steward of the land. It was in the pecan orchard where he felt closest to his Lord and Savior. He loved this country and what stood behind the true meaning of the flag of the United States of America. Jeremiah 29:11.
