J.D. Winters, 101, of Greenville passed away Monday, Sept. 4, 2017. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 7, at Memoryland Memorial Park with Dr. John T. Tate officiating.
Visitation is Wednesday, Sept. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Mr. Winters was born May 30, 1916, in Greenville to Morris Winters and Ossie Dockery Winters. He married Annie Sprinkle on Dec. 9, 1939. He worked for Dr Pepper and owned Hilltop Bowl. He was a member of Central Christian Church.
He is survived by his sons, Ronnie Winters and wife Carmeletia of Greenville and Larry Winters and wife Linda of Greenville; grandchildren Keith Winters, Kevin Winters, Chris Winters and Carrie Friddle; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother Hershel Winters, and sisters Mozell Campbell and Nana Lou Wesson.
Pallbearers will be Keith Winters, Kevin Winters, Ethan Winters, Chris Winters, Jarrod Friddle, and Braden Katchinska.
