Frances Kathryn "Shorty" Couch, 92, of Greenville passed away May 8, 2017, at Briarcliff Health Center. Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 13, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Royce Litchfield officiating. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Frances was born in Oak Cliff, Texas, on Jan. 25, 1925, to A.J. and Sophia Seamon Mauldin. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. She worked for J.C. Penny's as a bookkeeper.
Frances is survived by her sons, Jerry Couch and wife Georgia and Jim Couch; grandchildren Annie Smith and husband Tyler, Bradley Couch, and Vanessa Utrecht; great-grandchildren, Ty Smith and Cy Smith and other great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Lucy Smith, brother Jack Mauldin and niece Joy Smith.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the caregivers at Briarcliff and Dr. Richard Selvaggi for the attentive care that was provided for their mother.
