Luther "Ernie" Fouse went to be with the Lord Jan. 28, 2017.
He was born June 22, 1944, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Sammie and Emma Fouse. Ernie married Betty Prince on June 26, 1964, in Ladonia, Texas.
A resident of the South Sulphur community for 50-plus years, Ernie and Betty recently moved to the Horton area in Delta County.
Ernie worked for American Wood in Commerce, Texas, for 10 years and then at Wing Industries in Greenville, Texas, for 27 years. He retired from Atrium Doors in September 2012.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty; his daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Jarred Ferguson; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Jody Todhunter; his granddaughters, Reagan Sadler, Payton Ferguson, (Wesley Mayeux), Baylee and Kassady Todhunter; his great-grandsons; "Little Buddies" Wiley Sadler, Landry and Layton Mayeux and Laken Todhunter, and Andrea Glasscock, who was always like a daughter to him.
His love for fishing, collecting guns and knives, arrowhead hunting, metal detecting, and playing his guitar will always be precious memories in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Sammie and Emma Fouse, and his sisters, Ruby Marsh, Lynn Sutton and Mary Richardson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ernie Sutton, Justin Sutton, Sammy Sutton, Paul Zarate, Jeff Ferguson and Justin Ferguson.
Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Old, Bill Benson, Larry Green and Larry Fouse.
His funeral service is scheduled Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 1 p.m. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home in Commerce with burial to follow at Wieland Cemetery..
Visitation is scheduled Tuesday, Jan. 31, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
