Billy Mack Fowler, 64, of Commerce passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017, in Norman, Okla.
Billy was born March 26, 1953, in San Angelo, Texas, to Marcelline Hoelscher and Billy Gene Fowler. On July 4, 1974, he married Karen Schkade in San Angelo. At a young age Bill became passionate about working on tractors. Although he spent 15 years at the family-owned F&O Electronics/VESCO Implement, GTE and TXDOT, he never quit the trade of tinkering with tractors.
He went on to own and operate Broke F Farm Supply and Salvage for 31 years with his wife, Karen. Bill was an active member of the National Tractor Parts Dealer Association for 26 years. He found joy in serving others by helping troubleshoot their tractor problems. Bill and his wife became actively involved in FFA chapters across the state and took pride in making a difference in the lives of students through tractor restoration projects. Billy was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Fowler of Commerce; his children, Amber Fowler Norris (Guy Norris) of Sulphur Springs and Billy Gene Fowler (Denise Fowler) of Commerce; his grandchildren, Taylor Shayne Swinson, Tanner Louis Swinson and Maggie Jean Fowler; his brother, Bobby Jack Fowler; and his mother, Marcelline Fowler.
Active pallbearers will be Billy Fowler, Tanner Swinson, Guy Norris, Bobby Fowler, Greg Schkade, Gary Hoelscher, Kermit Schkade and Greg Hoelscher.
Honorary pallbearers will be "Sarge" Helfferich, Jon Pat Fowler, Mike Fowler, Lynn Patton, Gary Eicher, "Red" Moore and Steve Sacco.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, May 18, at 10 a.m. at Cross Trails Cowboy Church in Fairlie. Interment service will follow the church service at Sonora Cemetery in Fairlie.
