Billy Ray Davis, 68, of Greenville died Jan. 26, 2017, at Legend Rehab Center. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Elem Baptist Church in Greenville with Rev. M. Allen officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery in Neylandville.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home.
He was born Jan. 7, 1949, in Greenville to parents Jesse and Ruth Davis. He married Elsie Davis in Greenville in 2013. Mr. Davis served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a laborer and was a member of Mt. Elem Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Elsie Davis; two sons, Allen Morris and Tim Morris, both of Dallas; two daughters, Karen Suber of Rowlett and Monisha Davis of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Tommy Jessie Davis and Bobby Davis, both of Greenville; seven sisters, Brenda Hunter, Gloria Davis and Velma Smith, all of Greenville, Linda Caldwell of Garland, Annie Hamilton of Rockwall, Alice Woods of DeSoto and Dorothy Carson of Dallas; nieces, nephews and other relatives; and friends.
His parents, four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
