William David Wood, 79, of Enloe passed away Monday, March 20, 2017, surrounded by his loved ones. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 24, at the First Baptist Church of Cooper with Brother Gary Regan officiating.
Family will receive visitors 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, March 23, at Delta Funeral Home.
Bill was born in Cooper, Texas, Jan. 13, 1938. He was the son of Ray Olen Wood and Lorene Wickersham Wood. He had many successful years in retail management, both with Sears and Dillard's. He also had a very successful real estate career.
Bill served in the National Guard and was always proud to have served his country.
Bill was survived by his three daughters, Trecia Wood and fiancé Randy Freeman of Ben Franklin, Wendy Wood James and husband Steve of Enloe, Kim Wood Long and husband Stan of Tomball; 11 grandchildren who love him tremendously; many great grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Little of Cooper, Geneva Voetter of Houston, Peggy Hadaway of Cooper, and Denise Deel of Sulphur Springs; two brothers, Wake Wood of Talco and Randy Wood of Cooper; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Lorene Wood; brother Bennie Wood and sister Betty Wood; his first wife, Sue Wood O'Connell; and his second wife, LaTresia Ramsey Wood.
Honorary pallbearers are Cole Wood Jones, Marshall William Green, Dustin Green, John David James, Jeremiah James and Robert Breeden.
