Elder Walter Ray Thursby, 72, of Greenville died April 11, 2017, at a Rowlett hospital. Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Full Gospel Holy Temple Church in Greenville with Elder James Coleman Sr. officiating. Burial will be at Grundy Memorial Park.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, April 14, at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home.
He was born Feb. 2, 1945, in Greenville to Ocie and Lucy Thursby. He married Fannie Stephens on July 25, 1966, in Greenville. He worked in concrete construction and was a member of Full Gospel Holy Temple Church.
Survivors include his wife, Fannie Thursby of Greenville; two sons, Watson Stephens (Lydia) and Stoney Thursby (Mykisha), all of Greenville; a daughter, Regina Allison (Byron) of Houston; two sisters, Ruby Jones of Greenville and Girlene Richardson of Washington; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
His parents, eight brothers, and four sisters preceded him in death.
