Stephen Harris Martin, 62, of Greenville crossed peacefully through heaven's gates on Feb. 26, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Stephen was born in Beaumont, Texas, on July 3, 1954, to Bobbie Lester Martin and Reese Harris Martin. He worked at L3 Communications for 25 years and earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M University of Commerce.
Stephen is survived by his mother, Bobbie of Greenville; sons Jason Martin and wife Christine of McKinney, Texas, Matthew Martin and wife Laura of Wallingford, Conn., and Christopher Martin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sister Resa Moran and husband Adam of Hotchkiss, Colo.; brother Todd Martin and wife Sherry of Fate, Texas; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Stephen's father, grandparents and a niece preceded him in eternal life.
Stephen spoke his mind, enjoyed listening to rock-n-roll, playing the guitar, and hanging out with friends and family. He was also an accomplished musician and held a keen interest in his family's Scottish heritage.
A celebration of Stephen's life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 4, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Tumey officiating. The family will receive visitors following the service.
