Shirley Sloan, 72, of Greenville passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017, in Blue Ridge, Texas.
Shirley was born in Kingsville, Texas, on May 15, 1945, to Odes U. Taylor and Vena Jones Taylor. She was a medical biller for Community Health Clinic in Greenville. She married James Murrah Sloan in Cash, Texas, on May 30, 1964; he preceded her in death January of 2016. She was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Campbell, Texas.
Those left to cherish her memory are son Brad Sloan and wife Britt; grandchildren Weldon Sloan and wife Kit, Adrielle, Soren, Knox, and Campbell; sister Deborah Taylor Sanders and brother-in-law Ricky Sanders; brother Doug A. Taylor and sister-in-law Freda Taylor; nephews Glenn Taylor, Chris Moser, Baret Taylor Sanders, Jeff Sanders, Jeff Branch, and Jessie Branch; and nieces Shayla Taylor Harrison and Carisa Sanders.
She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew Rodney Britt Taylor.
Funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, July 16, at the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Campbell with Rev. James Ralson and Rev. Brad Sloan officiating. Interment will follow at Brigham Cemetery with Weldon Sloan, Chris Moser, Glenn Taylor, Jeff Sanders and Baret Sanders serving as pallbearers.
