Sherry Ruth (Wright) Wise, 59, of Point, Texas, gained her wings on Dec. 15, 2017.
Memorial service will be Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at 2 p.m., at Clark's Chapel Church in Point (Flats).
She was born July 28, 1958, in Ogdensburg, N.Y.
Sherry attended Quinlan High School, where she was a member of Texas readers club and earned a merit award for the science fair. After she graduated in 1976, she joined the Peace Corp, was a Girl Scout leader, a school volunteer, a member of American Culinary Federation and an arborist with the Arbor Day foundation.
Sherry enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, gardening, hiking and camping. She cherished spending time with family, her best friend Rebel and shooting the breeze with Carl and Sam. She had a strong passion for reading and was an avid animal lover. Sherry was always fascinated with the wonders of the world, which she held close to her heart.
She is survived by her daughters, Sera and husband Jeff Carter and Tonie and husband Ed Foster; mother, Pat and husband W.J. Powell; sisters, Darlene and husband Robert Biggs, Debbie and husband Jerry Winkle and Shirley and husband Larry Norton; grandchildren, Cerridwen and Owen Foster; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins very dear to her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Wright and niece, Miranda Lynn Wright.
