Robert Henry Hicks, 88, of Greenville, formerly of Houston and Bridge City, Texas, passed away Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, at Briarcliff Healthcare. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Greenville Bible Missionary Church with Rev. Mark Mullins and Rev. Frank Baldwin officiating.
Visitation is Tuesday, Sept. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 28, at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
Mr. Hicks was born July 28, 1929, in Burke, Texas, to Samuel Iles Hicks and Ethel Marie Weisinger Hicks. He married Alberta Faye Baldridge on May 28, 1949, in Galena Park, Texas. He was the former owner of H&W Hotshot in Houston and a member of Greenville Bible Missionary Church.
He is survived by his wife, Alberta Hicks of Greenville; daughters Della Sue Nugier, Mary Mullins and husband Mark and Anna Baldwin and husband Frank; grandchildren Mark Mullins and wife Charity, Ryan Mullins and wife Mary, Lauren Mullins, Dustin Mullins, Frank Baldwin and wife Heather, Bryan Baldwin, Bethany Moore and husband Nathan, Kimberly Gilbertson and husband Ryan, Kelley Kitlarz and husband Scott, Derek Simonis and wife Jana, Lance DeJohn and wife Amanda and Leesa Bigelow; son-in-law Darrell Simonis; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, second wife Eva, and daughters Linda Simonis and Karen Johnson.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Mark Mullins, Ryan Mullins, Dustin Mullins, Frank Baldwin, Bryan Baldwin and Derek Simonis.
