Robbie Rea Woodruff, 90, of Greenville passed away at Briarcliff Health Center. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Memoryland Memorial Park under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Royce Litchfield will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Born Sept. 24, 1926, in Vernon, Texas, Robbie was the daughter of Avery Alverson and Della McComic Alverson. In the spring of 1957 she married Hoover (Woody) Woodruff; he preceded her in death. Robbie was a longtime member of the North Baptist Church in Greenville. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company with 30-plus years of service.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wilson and Walton Alverson; one half-brother, I.D. Parmer; and sisters Ende Estelle Alverson, Modell Ramey and Opal Candler.
Her survivors include one niece, Donna Fox and husband Kevin; one nephew, Tommy Parmer and wife Ranell, and their children, Robert and Rebecca and their families; sister-in-law Dora Alverson; cousin Freda Hobbs; very special cousin Butch Williams and wife Jane; and special friend and caregiver Mary Ellen Hick.
We wish to thank Dr. Rick and all the staff of Briarcliff Health Center for the loving care given to her the last four months of her life.
