Allie Ray Lumpkin, 90, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017, at his home.
He was born to L.E. and Mamie Paul Lumpkin Aug. 17, 1926, in rural Van Zandt County. He married Winnie Faye Daniel Jan. 18, 1957. He worked at Ennis Tag as wiring department foreman and as co-manager of Green Acres and Golden West Apartments.
He is survived by his son, Bradley Lumpkin and wife Kathleen, and a grandson, Hagen Lumpkin.
Allie Ray was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Wolfe City. Mr. Lumpkin was a Life Member of Excelsior Masonic Lodge 505 in Wolfe City. He served in many officer positions in the Lodge and received the Golden Trowel Award in 1992, the highest award given to an individual member of the lodge. Mr. Lumpkin was an Army veteran and served his country during the Korean Conflict.
The graveside service will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 23, to be officiated by Bro. Ken Ballard.
Visitation will be at R.W. Owens and Son Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 22.
