Ralph Connor Ratliff, 91, longtime resident of Greenville, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017, at Greenville Health and Rehab. Funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 3, in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Danny Gandy and Rev. Bobby Sparks officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Ratliff was born in Cumby, Texas, on May 2, 1926, to Lawrence S. Ratliff and Jewell Newland Ratliff. Mr. Ratliff married Edna H. Elder on June 30, 1949, in Greenville. He retired after 27 years from Hunt Regional Medical Center and worked for CB's Hamburger Shop for 17 years. Mr. Ratliff was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Edna H. Ratliff; daughters Nancy Evans and Debora Dykes; grandchildren William G. Dykes, Amber Ricketts, Brandi Moss, Jimmy D. Helms, Robert Helms and Christina Helm; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Ratliff; son Gary Don Ratliff; his parents; brother Thedis Ratliff; and sisters Essie Davenport, Geneva West and Imogene Madera.
Pallbearers will be William G. Dykes, Jimmy D. Helms, Robert Helms, Con Moss, Thomas Ricketts, and Michael Blankenship.
