Raleigh Lee Linson, 93, of Greenville died Aug. 16, 2017 at his residence. His funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Clark St. Christian Church in Greenville with Rev. Charles Faulkner officiating. Burial will be at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.
Visitation is Sunday, Aug. 20, at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home from 2 to 6 p.m.
Born March 31, 1924, in Greenville, he was the son of Willie and Rebecca Clark Linson. He married Peggy Williams. Mr. Linson served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He worked as a laborer and was a member of Clark St. Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Linson of Rowlett; five sons, Raleigh Linson Jr. of Dallas, Jerry Linson of California, Joe Linson of San Antonio, Ray Linson of Greenville and stepson Clifford Brown of Greenville; seven daughters, Delores Cooper of Austin, Deborah Carter of Greenville, Rosemary Muse of Greenville, Phyllis Portis of Mesquite, Alfreda Linson of Greenville, Sandra Bell of Greenville and stepdaughter Olivia Brown of Irving; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Oneeta Linson; his parents, two sons and a daughter.
