Pearl's Story

A funeral service for Lucy Pearl Mills Green is scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Shaddox officiating. Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Pearl was a lifelong Texan, born to Bun and Euphia Taylor Mills on Sept. 12, 1917. She married Burl Green in 1936 in Greenville, Texas.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Burl; her brother, Bodie; and her sister, Sue Freeman.
She is survived by two nieces, Gail Wrangler and Diane Williams; three great- nieces, Teri Sue, Lindsey and Jessica; and a niece-in-love, Kayla Davis.
Pearl was an avid sports fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers.
Prior to retirement, Pearl was employed by Neiman Marcus and Nordis of Dallas. She was a member of Pollard United Methodist Church and the Gertrude Pitts Sunday School Class in Tyler, Texas.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
