Paul  Kornu


Dr. Paul Kornu (Pramuk Kornubrabhan), 80, of Greenville, passed away on January 9, 2019. He was born on December 25, 1938 in Bangkok, Thailand to Songwo and Jung Kee. He attended the prestigious Chulalongkorn University where he graduated with a medical degree in 1966. He married Pia Chenarak in 1967 and they moved to the US for his medical residency. They settled in Greenville, TX in 1975 where he opened an internal medicine practice and they raised their three children. He loved reading about geopolitics (especially Thailand and China), maintained fluency in three languages, and practice Chinese calligraphy and poetry. His tender heart showed the most in his love for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Pia of Greenville, sons Dr. Roger (Christine) Kornu of Irvine, CA and Dr. Kimbell (Erin) Kornu of St. Louis, MO, son-in-law Dr. Travis (Jenny) Campbell of Albany, GA, grandchildren Evan Campbell of Albany, GA, Rebecca, Alexis, and Samuel Kornu of Irvine, CA, Owen, Lucas, and Baby Boy (due in May) Kornu of St. Louis, MO, nephew Somboon (Tassanee) Supakkul of Euless, TX, niece Irene (Richard) Panchasarp of Irving, TX, a sister in Thailand, and numerous nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three siblings, and his beloved daughter Lillian Kornu Campbell.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
