Matthew Lee Wilson, 24, of Norman, Okla., formerly of Commerce, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, in Austin, Texas.
Matthew was born in Greenville, Texas, on September 18, 1992, to Darlene Michelle Wilson and Rodney Lee Mendez. He was a Fraud Prevention Specialist at Quibids. He was a BJJ fighter at American Elite MMA.
Survivors include his parents, Darlene and Rodney; his three sisters, Christie Wilson of Georgia, Belinda McCord of Paris, Texas, and Felicia Ingle of Arizona; his three brothers, Joe Ingle of Arizona, Kayle Stotts of Sulphur Springs and Wesley Leard of Norman, Okla.; and, his step-brother, Miguel Morales. Other survivors are his two nephews, Kegan McCord and Liam Ingle; his nieces, Shamya and Trinity Wilson; and many, many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Christine Mae Hutcherson and Travis Lynn Wilson; his nephew, Tayvion Elisha Wilson; and his uncle, Perry Mendez.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., on Sunday, April 23, at First Baptist Church of Commerce, with Rev. Kris Myers officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at First Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Leard, Kayle Stotts, Aaron Lunceford, Pedro Mojica, Luis Parra, Joe Ingle, Tadarious Hawkins and Kevin Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be T.J. Tomlin, Rodney Mendez, Kole Kretzer and Ben Rust.
Interment will follow at Horton Cemetery.
