Martha Bishop Meador, 60, went peacefully to meet her Lord and Savior on Aug. 4, 2017.
A lifelong Greenville resident, Martha graduated with honors from Greenville High School and started a career in office administration, before achieving her most desired job of being a devoted mom. Martha loved and cherished her three sons more than anything else in life. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking, watching TV and was an avid reader until her eyesight diminished to where she could not read as easily as before.
Martha was born July 3, 1957, to Clyde and Vivian Bishop in Greenville. After Vivian's premature death, Martha went to live (at the age of 18 months) with her uncle and aunt, J.K. (Jake) and Orene Blackshear, who loved her dearly and raised her as their own daughter.
Martha was preceded in death by her sister, Cheryle; her mom, Vivian; her father, Clyde; Jake and Orene Blackshear; JB Blackshear and Dave Huggins; as well as three nephews.
Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Jarrod and Brandon of Greenville and Ryan of Galveston; devoted partner and caregiver Ray Ferguson of Greenville; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Tim Mason of Redlands, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law Sue and Clete Holt of Celeste; sister-in-law Donna Huggins of Tyler and sister-in-law Weyma Blackshear of Greenville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Monday, Aug. 7, at Lynch Funeral Service.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 2 p.m. at Park Street Church in Greenville. Interment will follow at New Klondike Cemetery in Klondike, Texas.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the SPCA or Texas Right to Life Foundation or Park Street Baptist Church.
