Marsha Kerbow Hammonds of Mount Pleasant, Texas, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at 65 years of age.
She was born Feb. 22, 1952, in Paris, Texas, the daughter of George Marshall and Evelyn (Robertson) Kerbow.
Marsha was a beloved elementary school teacher, teaching for four years at Ennis, Texas, and then 33 years for the Mount Pleasant ISD at the E.C. Brice campus. She was a member of the Naples Church of Christ in Naples, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, David Hammonds; children Amy Lawrence of Mount Pleasant, Texas, Bryan Lawrence of Mount Pleasant, T.J. Lawrence and wife Amanda of Frisco, Texas, and Lori Hooper and husband Michael of Pittsburg, Texas; daughter-in-law Danielle Hammonds of Gilmer, Texas; grandchildren Sarah Hampton, Georgia Milner, Landon Lawrence, Lillie Lawrence, Lincoln Lawrence, London Lawrence, Brandie Hammonds, Melissa Hammonds, Louren Thompson, Dillon Thompson, Joseph Hammonds, Victoria Hammonds, Wesley Hooper, Kelsey Hooper and Melanie Chamness; two great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Henry and Belinda Hammonds and Butch and Pansy Hammonds; a sister-in-law, Gayle Boase; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Louise and Donald Fudge; numerous nieces and nephews; and cousins Bob Robertson, Ann Hussey, Betty Jones, Sandy Robertson, Marshall Robertson and Cathy Creamer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Mark Hammonds, and two infant brothers.
Her funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, March 25, at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Chapel. Interment will follow at the Gladewater Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.
