Marland Wallace Poe, 80, of Caddo Mills died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, at his home. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 2, in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Pat Cooper officiating. Interment will be in Caddo Mills IOOF Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Poe was born in Winnsboro, Texas, on Jan. 14, 1937. He was the son of Oran Jack Poe and Vergie Jewel Pope Poe. He married his childhood sweetheart, Linda Faye Yeatts, on Jan. 12, 1957, in Josephine, Texas. In life, Marland treasured his family most, adoring the grandchildren and spoiling them at each visit. After his family, he loved garage sales and flea markets; collecting antiques and treasures for more than 20 years. He was a retired service technician with General Electric and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Poe of Caddo Mills; son Gary Poe and wife Barbara of Wylie; daughter Kathy Grigsby and husband Del of Caddo Mills; grandchildren Daniel Turney, Ryan Turney, Helen McDonough and Audrey Ketchum; and great-grandchildren Maelyn and Judson Ketchum.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Wayne Poe and James Poe.
