Loralei's Story

Loralei Ann James, 70, of Wolfe City, passed away Feb. 3, 2017, following a lengthy illness. She was born June 23, 1946, in Great Bend, Kans., to Alvin and Elsie (Kraft) Funk.
After spending most of her years growing up in Otis and Hoisington, Kans., the family moved to Colorado, where she graduated from Littleton High School and attended Denver University.
She married Jimmy Don James July 25, 1965, in Littleton and lived in the Wolfe City-area for almost 40 years.
Lori retired from the Hunt County Community Supervision and Corrections Department in 2009. Previously, she worked for Heller Financial in Dallas. She was active in the community, serving on the board of the Red Cross, chairing Greenville's Cotton Jubilee and serving as an officer in the local chapter of Business and Professional Women. Lori also was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Greenville.
Lori is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jimmy; daughter, Lynette McGlamery and husband Gerry of Houston; son, Jimmy Jr. and wife Martha of Houston; grandchildren, Laurie Beth James, Tommy James and Caitlin McGlamery; sister Barbara Bader of Centennial, Colo.; and cousin, Robbie Murta of Great Bend, Kans.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Altus Hospice for the loving care they gave Lori over the past three years, especially Bonnie, Patrick and Cindy, and to all the family and friends who brightened her days.
Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church or Women in Need in Greenville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., today, at R.W. Owens and Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City.
A celebration of Lori's life will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 10, at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at 2 p.m., in Wolfe City.
