She was a long time Greenville resident.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira Albert Greer and Maxine Lottie Box Greer; sister, Grinita Greer Bishop; son, Reggie Dale Eastup; and former husband, A.C. Eastup, Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Lana Kay Gates and Debra Darlene Brashears; son, Allen Ray Eastup; grandchildren, Rachel Gates Corbani, Tonna Dishner, Melissa Jackson, Jennifer Burrous, Brooke Brashears and Jillian Brashears; great-grandchildren, James Dishner, Abigail Dishner, Mason Dishner, Kaitlyn McGill, Bryanna Jordan, Hannah Jordan, Bradley Nathan Brashears, Bella Gionna Corbani and Franco Dario Corbani; sister, Rhelda Bailey; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Lavonda was a devoted member of Cash Baptist Church. She was also an avid poet and writer who earned numerous awards. She was active in Hunt County Right to Life and wrote many articles and poems about abortion.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service with burial following at Paradise Stone Cemetery.
