Larry Don Monk, Sr., 64, of Greenville, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017, at his residence. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at 10 a.m. at the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Dr. Chet Haney officiating. There will be a military graveside to follow at Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Larry was born in Greenville on Sept. 28, 1952 to Jerl "J. R." and Winnie Francis Cooper Monk. Larry was a long time tires salesman and manager for the family business Monk Tires in Greenville. He also worked 15 years for Walmart in the Automotive Department.
He was also a proud veteran, serving in the U. S. Army for 10 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greenville.
Larry is survived by his sons, Larry Monk, Jr., David Monk, Kerry Monk, all of Greenville; brother, Jerry Dale Monk and wife, Donna of Goodyear, Ariz.; grandchildren, Mercades Monk, Alexis Monk, Blake Monk and Lacy Monk.
He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Macy Monk.
Pallbearers will be Gary Bowers, George Monk, Jeff Monk, Jerry Monk, Kevin Monk and Steve Warner.
