Joann  Turner Mills


Joann Turner Mills, 84, passed peacefully at Mayberry Gardens Assisted Living on June 10, 2019.
She was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on August 11, 1934. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Josephine Turner. She was employed by McKesson before she retired. Joann was a member of The Church at River Oaks. She was an avid collector of stray dogs that she absolutely loved.
She is survived by sons, William K. Mills and wife Cathy of Richardson, Richard Mills, Jr. and wife; precious daughter-in-law, Robin Ray Mills; grandsons, Josh Watkins and wife Lynn, Cody Watkins and wife Lori; granddaughters, Paige Mills, Shelby Onstot and husband Colton, Haley Polhans and husband Gareyson; grandson, Jeffrey Mills and granddaughter, Carly Mills; step-grandson, Kerr Mills and wife Kim and step-granddaughter, Kelly Mills and Brian Mason; great-grandchildren, Heaven, Hunter, Cason, Rylan and Phoenix.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Mills, Sr. and daughter, Joan Lorance.
Her memorial service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, June 22 at The Church at River Oaks with Rev. Kelley Reagan officiating.

Oh, how I loved that lady! When my mom died, I called Joann - the first one I called, and down she came to comfort me. Nothing like her hugs!!! We shared family times with her - hers and ours. Wonderful cook!! If you mentioned not feeling well, down she would come with some "comfort" food. One of the kindest people I have ever known. Wish I'd said that at her memorial. Love you all and am praying that God will send to you all the peace and comfort that only He can give. Please stay in touch. Looking forward to seeing her again one day. I know she must be enjoying her new home......
