Jerry Lee Press, 80, of Greenville, died Jan. 17, 2018, in Greenville. His funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 19, at Highland Terrace Baptist Church with Rev. Steve O. Payne officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery.
Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Press was born in Blue Ridge, Texas, on May 12, 1937, to Claude N. Press and Roxie Alexander. He married Darlene Shook Aug. 26, 1955, in Kirkwood Ill. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois and master's degrees from the University of Southern California and East Texas State University (Texas A&M University-Commerce). He was a system engineer at Raytheon/E-Systems more than 30 years and a longtime caregiver to his wife of 62 years. He was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Press of Greenville; children Steven Press and wife Dana of Flower Mound, Brad Press and wife Holly of Greenville, Cindy Williams and husband Dwayne of Greenville, and Diane Camp and husband Ken of Garland; sister Susan Steging and husband David of Fort Worth; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Eugene Press, and sister Enneree Lazella.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Daniel Camp, Matthew Camp, Nathan Camp, Evan Press, Jerry Press and James Press. Other grandchildren are Jennifer Rollins, Laura Beene, Brittany Williams, Emma Press, Jamie Emery, Gabriel Emery and Douglas Emery.
