Jerry Lee East, 76, of Greenville passed away Oct. 22, 2017, at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Kenny Stone officiating. Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p m. at the funeral home.
Born Jan. 13, 1941, in Greenville, Jerry was the son of Hurshell East and Rreta Brown East. On Nov. 25, 1960, he married JoAnn Coats in Greenville. Jerry worked for Walker-McDonald Manufacturing for more than 30 years and was a retired real estate agent. He was a member of Family Fellowship of Greenville.
His survivors include his wife, JoAnn; daughters Terri Gafford and Tammy Rydens; brother Tommy East; and grandchildren Matthew Goswick, Justin Mitchell, and Elizabeth Brown; and great-grandchildren Aiden and Kinsley Mitchell, Bryson Goswick and Brooklynn Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Billie Sumrow and Kay Cathey.
Pallbearers will be Jim Bryant, James Oliver, Dale Purifoy, Keith Alexander, Bo Hartline, and Bubby Holloway. Honorary pallbearers will be John Paul Willabay and David Roberts.
