James Hilbert Long, 67, of Greenville, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2018 at his home.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 24, at Shady Grove Cemetery. Rev. Kelly Reagan will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, 1 p..m. to 2 p.m. at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
James was born in Athens on June 20, 1950. He was the son of Ivan Hilbert Long and Mary Corley Long. He married Frances Husbands on April 3, 1993. He owned Long's Insurance Agency and was a member of the Church at River Oaks.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Long; sons, James Snyder and wife, Jennifer and Richard Tamplin and wife, Jennifer; daughters, Karen Drennon, Heather Long, Kelsi Long, Julie Evans and husband, Jerry and Jeanne Smith and husband, Randy; sisters, Martha Samples and Jean Long; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be James Snyder, Josh Evans, Austin Cook, Asha Drennon, Pat Lowery and Lenny Stovall.
