Howard D. Carry, 80, of Quinlan Texas, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017, in Greenville, Texas.
Howard was born in Tyler, Texas, on Aug. 10, 1936, and was raised by his parents, Millie Pratt Lewis and Benjamin Herman Lewis. Howard served in the US Army and fought in the Korean Conflict.
He was a truck driver and after retirement was owner/operator of the Lake Tawakoni Catfish Guide Service. He married Patricia Brennan on July 23, 1955, in Waltham, Mass.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Patricia Carry; son David Carry and wife Dana; daughter Janice Flowers and husband Justin; grandchildren Devin Carry, Damon Carry, Lindsay Carry, Brit Ewers, Blair Wood, Kerry Karaffa, and Kristen DeVore; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmom Grace Lewis, son Donald Carry, and daughter Vickie Ewers.
Services for Mr. Carry were held Monday, March 13, at Peters Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Vaughn officiating. Interment followed at Weiland Cemetery, with James Carter, Billy Henderson, Blake Taylor, Billy Taylor, Orville Gentry, Allen Ackenback, Damon Carry, and Kerry Karaffa serving as pallbearers.
