Henry Seaton Neyra, 86, longtime resident of Naperville, formerly of Greenville, Texas, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 25, 2017, surrounded by family.
He was born March 31, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., to his loving late parents, Henry W. and Lillian Neyra.
Henry is survived by his second wife, Martha Fowler Neyra, wedded for 22 years, and was predeceased by his first wife, Joyce Neyra, nee Johannville, wedded for 43 years. He was the beloved father of Richard Neyra of Euless, Texas, Nancy (Jerry) Compton of Allen, Texas, Thomas (Vicki) Neyra of Royse City, Texas, Judy (Lance) Sikes of Clarksville, Tenn., Teresa (William) Hiltenbrand of Naperville and Donald Neyra of Naperville; father-in-law of Joan Neyra and Judy K. Neyra; adored grandpa of Matthew (Lauren) Neyra, and Natalie (Shay) Walsh, Bradley and Sara Compton, Bryn (Taylor) Madison Garrett and Amber (Andrew) Kapraun, Rebecca Cravens, Christopher Meaghan and Madison Sikes, Ashley, Catherine, James and Joseph Hiltenbrand; great-grandpa of nine; fond brother of the late James "Jumbo" Neyra; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Henry was a proud US Naval veteran serving in the Mediterranean during the Korean War. After leaving the US Navy, Henry opened Photography by Henry in Naperville in 1954. He sold the business in 1962 and joined his brother, James "Jumbo", and father, Henry W. Neyra, owner/operators of the Western Frame and Molding Company started in Naperville in 1927, and moved to Greenville in 1978. Henry started the Knights of Columbus chapter in Greenville and served as Grand Knight. Henry was an avid golfer, had a fantastic sense of humor and will always be known for a good prank.
Visitation was April 27 at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home and Cremation Services, in Naperille, Ill.
Mass of Christian burial was April 28, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Raphael Church, 215 Modaff Road, Naperville, Ill. Interment is private. For more information, call 30355-02113 or go to www.friedrich-jones.com.
