Helen Leinart Rhea, 87, of Greenville, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 5, 2018, in Dallas, Texas.
Helen was born Nov. 15, 1930, in Royse City, Texas, to Beulah Myers and Oliver Scott Leinart. She graduated from East Texas State University, now Texas A&M - Commerce, with a degree in home economics and worked as a Home Demonstration agent for Lone Star Gas Co. She married Robert Milton Rhea on June 6, 1954, and they lived and raised three sons in Greenville.
Helen was a charter member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and a member of the Joy Sunday School Class for many years. She loved volunteering as a Pink Lady at Hunt Memorial Hospital, was a former member of the Spade and Trowel Garden Club, and for more than 50 years played with her good friends in the THE Bridge Club.
Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Milton (in 1994); her grandson, William; her brother, Scott Leinart of Lindale, Texas; her sister, Dorothy Farr; and niece Jean Anne Johnson of Caddo Mills, Texas.
She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Robert and Cindy Rhea of Dallas, Texas, Andy and Susan Rhea of Florence, S.C., and Mark and Jill Rhea of Ft. Worth, Texas; her grandchildren, Parker of Houston, Texas, Madison (Caroline) of Dallas, Daniel of Ft. Worth, Andrew (Victoria) of Charleston, S.C., Samuel of Dallas, Anna Lee of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Sally of Stephenville, Texas, and Hunter and Hannah Welch of Florence, S.C.; and many special nieces and nephews and their children.
Her funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 10, at Highland Terrace Baptist Church under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Matt Beasley and Dr. David Stubblefield will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Park Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m., today, Feb. 9, at Mrs. Rhea's home.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Johnson, Justin Johnson, Randy Farr, Steve Farr, Tom Stuth and Sam Stuth. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom McAllister, Jim Shuler, John Mizell, Dr. James Sandin, Ed McMeans, Glen Steed and Joe Williams.
Memorials may be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church or Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
