Hazel Merle Fugitt, 95, of Greenville passed away Feb. 8, 2018, at the Oak Manor Nursing Home in Commerce. Funeral service will be held Monday, Feb. 12, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Mizer officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Hazel was born May 11, 1922, in McKinney, Texas, to Ernest Lee and Sophia Adline Davis Long. She married Lee Edwin Fugitt on May 28, 1968, in Tyler, Texas. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.
Hazel is survived by her sons, Howard D. McDonald of Greenville, Harvey Allen McDonald of Greenville, and Ricky Lynn McDonald of Tyler; daughters Mary Louise Ishmael of Greenville, Glennie Faye Broughton of Big Sandy, and Freda Gayle Taylor of Campbell; half brother, Micky Long of Kansas; half sister Jackie Lou Knight of Oregon; 20 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She wss preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Rex L. McDonald Jr.; brothers William (Bill) Long and Olis Albert Long; half brother Wayne Long; and sister Erma Lee Smith.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
