Franklin D. Norfleet, 82, of Greenville, passed away Jan. 23, 2017, at Medical City of Plano.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with interment following at Memoryland Memorial Park. Dr. Chet Haney and Rev. Royce Litchfield will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., today, at the funeral home.
Born April 6, 1934, in Hunt County, Frank was the son of E.J. Norfleet and Allie (Pannell) Norfleet. On March 11, 1972, he married Paulette Henderson in Greenville.
Mr. Norfleet served in the United States Army. He was a retired firefighter for the city of Greenville, where he served as fire marshal from 1985-1989. He also worked part-time for the Hunt County Surveyor. He was a member of the Highland Terrace Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Paulette of Greenville; daughters, Debra McDaniel and husband Danny of Royse City and Cynthia Smith of Greenville; brother, James "Boots" Norfleet of Greenville; daughter-in-law, Louise Norfleet of Dallas; grandchildren, Lane and Corbin McDaniel and Alicia and Patrick Smith; step-granddaughter, Cathy Ramos; and step-great-granddaughter, Atiana Ramos.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jimmy Norfleet; sister, Lucy Willeford; and brothers, Eugene, Everett Alvie, Dock and J.L. "Jake" Norfleet.
Pallbearers will be members of the Greenville Fire Department.
